On March 21st, our Waltham Team hosted a “Coffee with a Cop” community event.

Among those in attendance were:
  • Mayor Jeannette McCarthy
  • City Councilors: Anthony LaFauci, Sean Durkee & Paul Katz
  • Chief of Police, Kevin O’Connell
  • Captain of Community Services Division Jeffrey Rodley
  • Officers from the Waltham Police Department

Our McDonald’s Team and the Waltham Police Department had fun greeting customers, serving free coffee and distributing giveaways to those visiting the restaurant during the event.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Our Newton Travel Plaza location is walking distance to the Boston Marathon course. This year, General Manager Theresa S. wanted to make Boston’s first Marathon Monday since 2019 a special one.

Theresa led a grassroots fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England. She & Team spread the word about RMHC to all of the marathon spectators parking on site and raised $682.34!

Special thanks to our local PR partner, Shift Communications, in helping with a media blast in advance of the event. The Newton Team was thrilled to plug the fundraiser last Friday morning on the WCVB-TV “Eye-Opener” newscast (WCVB video link)
